While the pedigree shown below matches the records as to how Pokey himself is bred, research on the Sorrells line reveals that the pedigree on Sorrells Bubba Boe was altered. During our interview with Madison Parker, seen here… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iu9-PasXDQQ, Madison explains that while dogs from Baker Davis are seen behind some of the Sorrells dogs, the depth of the Davis influence was hidden by Bert Sorrells to keep his competition from knowing how his dogs were actually bred.

After learning this, I put the true pedigree online for Sorrells Bubba Boe, included a photo of Bert Sorrells handwritten pedigree, and also created pedigrees for the dogs between him and Sorrells Pokey, including Raisin, Mucho Dinero, Brickhouse, Maybelline, and Bessie Mae. Their pedigrees can be viewed by clicking on their names in this pedigree; however, given the massive number of descendants bred down from them, I am not going to recreate accurate pedigrees for all their descendants, nor am I able to remove their false pedigrees from this database.

As a result, I suggest noting the following...we can notice Pokey resulted from a breeding that reveals a great deal of emphasis from Sorrells Bubba Boe and Sorrells Raisin. Noting Bubba Boe is heavily based on Davis Boomerang and was bred to a granddaughter of Sorrells Miss Boomerang, one may conclude that Mr. Sorrells may have been seeking to preserve the Davis line. Additionally, by studying what females both Bubba Boe and Raisin were bred to, we will again notice Mr. Sorrells may have attempted to preserve the Davis line (Gr. Ch. Davis Boomerang, Ch. Davis Chivo, Davis Peggy, Davis Piggy, Davis Scratch, Davis Grasshopper, Davis Mr. Baker, and Davis Pancake) in many of the Sorrells dogs, dogs such as Sorrells Mucho Dinero, Sorrells Brickhouse, Sorrells Two Shoes, Sorrells Maybeline, Sorrells Batter, Sorrells Miss Boomerang, Sorrells Sailor II, Sorrells Bessie Mae, Kilpatricks Blazer, Sorrells Nintindo 2xW, Sorrells Groovy, Sorrells Madusa, Sorrells Hardeyes (who was out of Sorrells sister (Davis Chivo x Davis Peggy), Sorrells Mouse, Sorrells Billy, Sorrells Ginger, Sorrells Granny, Sorrells Skeeter, Sorrells Invader, Sorrells Hot Rod, Sorrells Squeeky, and many other dogs Mr. Sorrells acquired from the Davis line or produced by breeding these dogs back to each other.
