Dime, as we affectionately called him, was one of my favorite dogs of all-time and an excellent producer! I got Dime from Bill Geist as a small aggressive little puppy! I knew he was going to be a special dog one day when he grabbed my pants leg and began tugging at it, he wasn't trying to bite me or anyone later, he just wanted to work and for that reason I picked him from his litter.
Dime was a very intelligent and high ability dog with a big heart to match. Unfortunately, he never got his chance to race like so many of his legendary forefathers before him! I believe he would have been super famous had he been. He was crossed between the highly famous Havana Boy's Joker, Redboy-Jocko strain and the notorious Ozzie Steven's Ch. Homer Strain. Gringo was the total package!
Although he wasn't bred much, he thew many good dogs from various breedings and in the hands of some known and respected dogmen. Even the late Ozzie Stevens had multiple winners and dogs sired by Dime. One of his more famous grandsons, "Buddy" became Grand-champion and a D.O.Y. dog! My only regret is not keeping it alive! If and when you had a good one sired by Dime, it was really a good one!
